Let Me Introduce Myself!

Hello there to all, my name is Chantel Loveless and I am overjoyed to announce that I am the new director at Holly Tree Preschool in Brentwood! I am originally from Centerville, Hickman county where I met my husband Brad in elementary school. My son Jacob is 16 and attends Fairview High School where he works hard at the JROTC program and just completed his sophmore year. Our new arrival is Lyrah Loveless and she is 8 weeks old and has joined the Holly Tree family in nursery one. We tried for many years to extend the family and by the grace of God, finally had the opportunity to welcome our little blessing into our home.

I have always had a passion for taking care of children and offering my artistic abilities and talents to everyone. I love photography and am privileged to have seen many beautiful places in my lifetime. I enjoy being outside, hiking, canoeing, camping, swimming and grilling. I am looking forward to the meet & greet this Thursday evening to formally meet those of you I haven't met yet. I know we are all sad to see Ms. Tia go, but I am honored to carry on her hard work and devotion to this sweet little preschool. Thank you for allowing me into you and your children's hearts. I know we are going to accomplish great things and continue teaching exceptional academics and  introducing the word of God through prayer, fellowship, and play.

Looking forward to a fun and eventful summer!

Sincerely,
Chantel Loveless

Making Music!

Every spring, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) hosts their annual Week of the Young Child (WOYC). This a celebration of togetherness and celebrating childhood! Monday's theme was Music Monday! Our Pre-K class made their very own Rainsticks! They put different things in them (beans, rice, etc) to see how different they sounded!

Way to go Pre-K!

How Can We Bloom?

Today, our Pre-K class was talking about spring. During their Bible lesson, Ms. Destenee tied in the theme and they talked about how to "Bloom" as human beings. How can they be better humans?
Hearing the answers they were giving really filled our hearts with joy!
-Pray
-Give to the needy
-Share
-Be nice to our Teachers (that one was sweet:)
-Show Love

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."     -Proverbs 22:6

DIY Light Box

We LOVE a DIY craft! We were talking about the first days of creation, and when God made light. We thought, what better wat to represent that than with a home made light box! Check out how easy it was and how much the kiddos loved it below!

Items you will need:
-Clear Container/Box with a clear lid
-Aluminum Foil
-Wax Paper or White Tissue Paper
-Christmas Lights (White)
-Clear Packing Tape
-Scissors

How to Make the Light Box:
-Line the box with aluminum foil.
-Put the lights inside of the box (but leave part of the cord out to plug in)
-Tape the wax paper to the underneath of the clear top.
-Close and lock the lid to the box
AND......

You have a DIY light box! What can you do with a light box? You can trace letters or numbers, look at X-Rays, or as some of the Pre-K friends did, they looked at the bug cards from the science center under the light! (Can you tell we are all excited about spring?;)
