Sensational Singing

We want to recognize the hard work of our Preschool 3 and PreK classrooms for putting on a spectacular performance at our Christmas Program! We know Ms. Melissa, Ms. Elizabeth, and the children worked really hard to put the show together! The children serenaded our ears with the sounds of "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and many other holiday favorites. There was even a portion of the show where parents were invited to sing together with the children! We were happy to get the opportunity to invite parents into our center to enjoy the sounds of our little ones. Thank you to all the parents that came out!

Breakfast with Santa

Just look who stopped by Holly Tree to enjoy breakfast with all of our sweet girls & boys! Santa made a special trip to see us straight from the North Pole! He must have heard that all of the children were extra- good this year. He also may have heard that our lovely families were bringing in muffins, fruit, and other yummy breakfast items to school. We appreciate Santa's time, after all, it is a very busy time of the year for St. Nick!

Delightful Donations

A special thank you to all of our generous families that donated hats, mittens, and scarves to our "Mitten Tree." We were able to raise more than 60 items! It feels great to know that these items will end up in the hands of a child that needs them!

Making Reindeer Food

On Wednesday, December 23rd, the children were invited to make reindeer food. This special food is for the children to sprinkle on their lawns on Christmas Eve. "The moonlight will make it sparkle bright as the reindeer roam, this will guide them to your home!" Our first ingredient we used was oats, to help keep the reindeer strong on their long journey. The second ingredient we used was bread crumbs (gluten free for Comet, of course!). We also had to add some potato chips. We were careful because we were told Dancer gained 7 pounds last year! Lastly, we added glitter to sparkle and guide the reindeer to all of the children's homes. Take a look:

Lots of Latkes

This month, we are taking a closer look at "Holidays Around the World." In an investigation and exploration of Chanukah, Ms. Elizabeth's Pre-k classroom decided to make delicious latkes! Latkes are traditionally eaten during the Chanukah festival. They consist of potatoes formed in a shallow, patty- like shape. The children took part in forming the patties and helping Ms. Elizabeth cook them. They also took part in eating them! Needless to say, there were NO leftovers!

We are in the Spirit of Giving!

We were able to raise a huge amount of pasta and canned goods to donate to our community this holiday season! Thanks again Holly Tree families for your generous donations! It is so heart- warming to know that these items will really make a difference in lives of the less fortunate.

We are continuing the spirit of giving here at Holly Tree! We are excited to announce that we have created a "Mitten Tree"! We are collecting children's mittens, hats, and scarves. Families are invited to pin these items to our tree. All items will be donated to a homeless shelter to benefit the children.
