Pre-K Curriculum

With summer approaching, our Pre-K friends are finishing the last of their curriculum. Throughout the school year, we use a wonderful kindergarten-readiness curriculum called Handwriting Without Tears. It is a nationally recognized curriculum, and the children LOVE it! Below are pictures of them working on "mat man". Mat man is used to help children learn how to create the shapes that form the letters. A little imagination and coloring never hurt either!

Our Pre-K teacher Ms. Shanice helps the children with holding the crayon/pencil, counting "how many" body parts, drawing the shapes and explaining why the shapes are used.

Do You Like Bugs?

This week we are talking about insects! Preschool 1 took a poll to see what was each child's favorite bug!

Here were the choices...

They each took turns picking their favorite...

Then they went hunting for their favorite bug outside!

End result! What is YOUR favorite bug?

Planting seeds...what will they become? 

First you get a pot and put some dirt in it. Then...

 You add a seed or...

 two...

Last we take them home and watch them grow! What kind of flower will we have?
