Congratulations to Our Winners!!!

    Last week, we held a Pumpkin Decorating contest for all of our Holly Tree families. Families were given the opportunity to decorate their pumpkins and send them to school. The pumpkins were displayed until the contest winners were decided on Friday, October 25th.The winners of our contest would receive a fun Fall/ Halloween basket. The competition was fierce! We received so many creative entries! Here are the results:

    Our first place winner was Nathan Moser and family! What an imaginative (and super cute) idea  to turn a pumpkin into a bat! We loved it!

   

Our second place winner was Hunter Barnes and family! We loved the creative faces on 

both sides of the pumpkin and the fancy Halloween stickers!

Fire- TASTIC Fire Safety!

Yesterday, we had the Brentwood Fire Department stop by to give us all a lesson in fire safety! Not only did they give us some tips to keep us safe, they even took the children on a tour of their fire truck! We learned about what the fire fighters need on their truck to fight fires and the gear they use to protect themselves. The children were also able to go inside the fire truck!

Let's Make Pizza

On Wednesday, we had a blast making pizza for lunch! The children really enjoyed putting on all of their toppings, baking, and eating their finished masterpieces. A huge thank you to Papa Murphy's for donating 66 pizza making kits to our school! Here are some of the photos from our pizza making adventure!

Connecting With Our Community

 

 

    This week at Holly Tree, we have had some exciting special guests come to visit our school! What a treat it was to have a nurse, police officers, and a dentist come talk to us about keeping ourselves healthy and safe!

 

    Nurse Allison came to visit our school on Wednesday to show us some of the tools that she uses to help determine if/ why a person is sick. She also talked to us about the importance of hand washing to keep us all healthy!

 

 

    Officer Bady and Officer Wood from the Brentwood Police Department came to talk to us about "stranger danger." The officers even showed the children their police car! They also gave us a fun activity book and police badge stickers!

    Doctor MacNut, a local dentist, came to talk to us about keeping our teeth and gums healthy!

     We are happy to announce our Coffee Basket winners: Amanda Turner with a guess of 3,000 beans, and Fawnda Messmer with a guess of 1,949 beans! The actual amount of coffee beans in the jar was 2,478! Great guesses ladies! Congratulations and enjoy!

Jammin' With JAM!

 

We love when Ms. Sandra comes to visit us on Tuesdays for our JAM (Jesus And Me) Program! What a great enrichment opportunity for our children to learn about the Bible and praise the Lord! This month, we are focusing on the Fruit of the Spirit. This week, we are focusing on the two "Fruits," "Love" and "Joy." Ms. Sandra played a "Love" and "Joy" identification game with the children and sang/danced to the Fruit of the Spirit song with the children using fancy ribbons! What a fun JAM session!
